Ingredients

Scale

Ice

2 ounces bourbon

2 ounces apple cider

2 dashes bitters

2 ounces ginger beer

Squeeze of fresh lemon juice

Star anise for garnish

Apple slice for garnish

Fresh thyme sprig for garnish

Instructions

1-First, fill a rocks glass with ice to chill the drink and set the base. Then, add 2 ounces of bourbon for that warm kick, followed by 2 ounces of apple cider fresh is best, but juice makes a good stand-in. Don’t forget the 2 dashes of bitters to tie the flavors together.

2-Next, top it off with 2 ounces of ginger beer and give it a gentle stir to mix everything smoothly. If you want a bit more zing, squeeze in some fresh lemon juice. At this point, taste your creation and tweak it by adding more apple cider for sweetness or bourbon for strength.

3-Finally, garnish with a cinnamon stick, star anise, apple slice, and/or a fresh thyme sprig to make it look as good as it tastes.
