Instructions
-Preparing the Meatballs: Start with the base of your Beef Carrot Christmas Balls. Finely chop the carrots and broccoli using a food processor or grater to get them ready. In a large bowl, mix the 500 grams of extra lean ground beef, chopped carrots, chopped broccoli, 1 can of canned sardines, 1 large egg, 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of kelp powder until everything blends well.
-Preparing the Meatballs: Once mixed, form the blend into meatballs, each weighing about 14-15 grams. Cook these in a non-stick skillet over medium heat, turning them on all sides for 5-10 minutes until fully cooked but not browned. After cooking, drain any excess fat by placing the meatballs on paper towels and let them cool.
-Making the Pasta Sauce: Next, focus on the sauce to complement your Beef Carrot Christmas Balls. Puree the 300 grams of pumpkin puree and 150 grams of chopped red bell pepper together, adding 125 milliliters of water as needed for a smooth texture. Warm this puree in a saucepan until it simmers, then take it off the heat and let it cool a bit.
-Making the Pasta Sauce: Separately, puree the 100 grams of strawberries and stir them into the cooled pumpkin mixture. This creates a flavorful sauce thatβs packed with nutrients.
-Handling the Pasta: If you want to add pasta to your Beef Carrot Christmas Balls, boil water without salt or oil and cook 100 grams of whole grain or whole wheat spaghetti until itβs very soft. Drain and cool it down. For a lighter option, make zucchini noodles from 1 medium zucchini using a spiralizer, mandoline, or knife, then steam them briefly in the microwave with a little water and let them cool.
-Assembling the Meal: Now itβs time to put it all together. Toss the cooked meatballs with the pasta sauce. Place the cooked pasta or zucchini noodles in your dogβs bowl, then top with the sauce-covered meatballs. If you like, sprinkle a bit of unsalted mozzarella cheese on top for extra appeal.
