Ingredients

1-First, preheat your oven to 425ยฐF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to get things off to a hot start.

2- In a large bowl, combine the 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 ยฝ teaspoons of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of salt, mixing well for even distribution.

3- Next, stir in the 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and the fresh herbs 2 tablespoons of chives, 1 tablespoon each of thyme, rosemary, and sage to infuse that aromatic flavor.

4- Make a well in the center of your dry mixture and pour in the 1 ยพ cups of buttermilk, stirring gently with a spoon until the dough just comes together.

5- Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead it lightly just a few times to avoid overworking, which could prevent proper rising, and shape it into a 7-inch circle.
