  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

– 1/2 pound (225 grams) ground beef (85/15) for a rich, hearty base

– 1 cup corn adds natural sweetness and texture

– 2/3 cup condensed cream of mushroom soup (or an alternative) helps bind the mixture with creamy flavor

– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided) provides a melty, savory topping

– 1/3 cup whole milk keeps the casserole moist and creamy

– 1/4 cup sour cream adds tang and smoothness

– 1 teaspoon onion powder brings in subtle depth and aroma

– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper enhances the seasoning with a bit of kick

– 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon for smoky, crispy bits

– 32 ounces (907 grams) tater tots the crispy topping that makes it fun and satisfying

Instructions

1-First, brown the 1/2 pound (225 grams) of ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until it’s fully cooked and crumbly.

2-Next, mix in the 1 cup corn, 2/3 cup condensed cream of mushroom soup, half of the 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/3 cup whole milk, 1/4 cup sour cream, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon until everything combines well.

3-Spread this mixture evenly in a 9Γ—13 inch baking pan, then add the remaining shredded cheddar cheese on top.

4-Evenly layer the 32 ounces (907 grams) of tater tots over the casserole for that crispy finish.

5-Bake uncovered at 375Β°F (190Β°C) for 40 to 45 minutes until it’s bubbly and golden brown.

6-Finally, sprinkle any remaining cheese on top and bake for an additional 5 minutes to melt it perfectly.
