Ingredients
– 2 1/2 to 3 pounds pork ribs (St. Louis Style preferred)
– Sea salt, to taste
– Black pepper, to taste (generous amount recommended)
– 1 teaspoon granulated garlic or garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– 2 teaspoons seasoning blend or rib rub of choice
– 1 to 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
1-Season the ribs generously with sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and the seasoning blend, applying a dry rub on all sides.
2-Place the ribs standing upright on their side in a slow cooker, with the meatier side facing the inner wall.
3-Pour 1 to 1 1/2 cups of barbecue sauce over the ribs, coating both sides and allowing it to drip down, forming a glaze during cooking.
4-Cover and cook on HIGH for about 4 hours or on LOW for about 8 hours, until the ribs are very tender and the meat easily pulls off the bone.
5-Transfer the cooked ribs carefully to a platter or baking sheet and spoon the cooking juices over them. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side, if desired.
