๐Ÿ Enjoy the perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors with these grilled pineapple sausage kabobs.
๐Ÿ”ฅ Ideal for brunch or any meal, these kabobs offer a delicious and colorful way to enjoy a balanced dish.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 pineapple, cut into 18 pieces about 1 1/2 inches each

1 red or orange bell pepper, cut into 18 pieces about 1 1/2 inches each

1 medium red onion, cut into 18 pieces

1 lb large turkey sausages or kielbasa, cut into 18 rings about 1 1/2 inches thick

1/4 cup BBQ sauce (sticky and sweet recommended)

1/4 cup real maple syrup

2 teaspoons hot sauce

Instructions

1-First: in a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup BBQ sauce, 1/4 cup real maple syrup, and 2 teaspoons hot sauce to create the glaze and set it aside. This step infuses the skewers with that sweet and spicy flavor that’s so addictive.

2-Next: thread the sausage, pineapple, bell pepper, and onion pieces alternately onto skewers for even cooking and a visually appealing result.

3-Once your skewers are ready, brush them with the glaze before placing them on the grill.

4-Grill the first side for 3 minutes, then turn and brush with more glaze, continuing for about 2 minutes per side until done, for a total of 10 to 12 minutes. This method ensures the vegetables reach your preferred tenderness while the sausage cooks through perfectly.

5-End by letting the skewers rest a bit before serving to lock in the flavors.

Notes

๐Ÿ”ฅ Grill pineapple to caramelize the natural sugars and enhance sweetness.
โณ Prepare skewers and glaze a day ahead and refrigerate; brush with glaze just before grilling.
๐Ÿฅฉ Experiment with different sausage varieties or make a vegetarian version with just vegetables and pineapple.
