Instructions
1-Whisk dry ingredients: In a bowl, mix 1Β½ cups (188g) all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, Β½ teaspoon baking soda, and ΒΌ teaspoon salt. Set aside.
2-Cream butter and sugars: Beat Β½ cup (113g) softened cool unsalted butter with Β½ cup (100g) granulated sugar and β cup (70g) lightly packed brown sugar until light, about 2 minutes.
3-Add wet ingredients: Mix in 1 large egg and 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract until smooth.
4-Combine: Gently stir dry into wet until just mixed. Avoid overdoing it.
5-Fold mix-ins: Add 1Β½ cups (220g) candies and chocolate chips (about 1 cup candies, Β½ cup chips), stirring gently.
6-Portion dough: Scoop 2-tablespoon balls onto sheets, spacing 2 inches apart. Press extra candies or chips on top.
7-Chill optional: For thicker cookies, chill balls 30 minutes to 1 hour. Bake right away for thinner ones.
8-Bake: 9 to 12 minutes until edges set but centers look underbaked. Cool on racks to firm up.
