– 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, about 6 ounces each for main protein

– 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt for bringing out flavor

– 1/4 cup all-purpose flour for coating

– 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into slices, divided for richness and lemon butter sauce

– 1 packet Italian dressing seasoning mix for Italian flavor

– 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice for citrus flavor

– 3/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth for cooking liquid

Instructions

1-First Step: Prep the slow cooker and season the chicken Coat a 6-quart slow cooker with nonstick spray. Next, pat the chicken breasts dry, then season them with 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder. Lightly dredge each chicken breast in 1/4 cup all-purpose flour.

2-Second Step: Brown the chicken for flavor Melt 1 tablespoon of the 5 tablespoons unsalted butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the floured chicken breasts and cook for about 3 minutes per side until they turn golden brown.

3-Third Step: Build the lemon sauce in the slow cooker Transfer the browned chicken breasts to the prepared slow cooker. Sprinkle 1 packet Italian dressing seasoning mix over the top so the herbs and spices can soak into the chicken as it cooks. Pour in 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice and 3/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth. Then add the remaining butter slices from the 5 tablespoons unsalted butter.

4-Fourth Step: Slow cook until tender Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 hours. The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

5-Final Step: Slice, shred, and serve When the chicken is done, remove it carefully from the slow cooker. You can slice it for a neat presentation or shred it if you want it to soak up more of the lemon broth. Spoon some of the sauce over the top and serve it warm.
