1/2 cup whole milk (full-fat)

1/2 cup regular full-fat sour cream

8 ounces extra sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated

1 tablespoon hot sauce

Tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

1-Melt 1 tablespoon unsalted butter over medium heat in a medium saucepan.

2-Add 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped; sauté for 1 minute.

3-In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of the 1/2 cup whole milk until smooth.

4-Add the remaining milk, the cornstarch mixture, and 1/2 cup regular full-fat sour cream to the saucepan; mix until combined.

5-Reduce heat to medium-low. Slowly add 8 ounces extra sharp cheddar cheese, stirring constantly until melted.

6-Stir in 1 tablespoon hot sauce once the cheese is melted.

7-Serve immediately with tortilla chips.
