Instructions

1-First, preheat your oven to 350ยฐF and grease a large rectangular pan measuring 18 by 13 inches for even baking and easy removal later.

2-In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 cups granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt until they’re well combined.

3-In a saucepan, boil 1 cup water, 1 cup butter, and 3 tablespoons cocoa powder until smooth, then let it cool slightly.

4-In another bowl, mix 1/2 cup sour cream, 2 large eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract before combining it with the dry blend.

5-Now, stir in the hot chocolate mixture to form a smooth batter and spread it evenly in the prepared pan.

6-Bake for 15-20 minutes until set, and while it bakes, prepare the frosting by bringing 6 tablespoons milk, 3 tablespoons cocoa powder, and 1/2 cup butter to a boil, then remove from heat and beat in 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar until smooth.

7-Once the cake is out of the oven, pour the hot frosting over it right away for the best absorption and easy spreading you’ll love how it creates that signature glossy finish.

8-Let it set for about 10 minutes before serving to ensure the flavors meld perfectly.
